ADDIS ABABA. – An Ethiopian claiming to be a prophet able to resuscitate the dead would have been arrested after failing to "bring a dead person back to life".
According to BBC, health worker and self-proclaimed prophet, Getayawkal Ayele approached the bereaved family of the late Belay Biftu, in the small western town of Galilee, in the Oromia region.
Ayele reportedly told the family that he could raise Biftu – who had already been buried – dead, just like the story of the biblical resurrection of Lazarus who was brought back from the dead by Jesus [19659002ThefamilyagreedtodigupBiftu'sbody
The filmed incident showed Ayele lying on Biftu's body in the grave and yelling "Belay, wake up."
Police had to step in when family members started attacking Ayele after having failed to revive him
