This is the city where to be born just two miles away could give you 18 more years.
The gap in life expectancy at Stockton-on-Tees, in Durham County, is unveiled in a BBC documentary the desperation of those facing poor health and the died at a relatively early age.
According to Public Health England, Stockton is the city with the largest gap in health and life expectancy in the country. A man can expect to live up to age 64, the same age as an Ethiopian.
Rob Hill, a father of eight, tells investigators that he is preparing for death at age 46 after being diagnosed with many health problems.
He suffers from emphysema, lymphoedema and type 2 diabetes – among other health problems.

Dr. David Hodges of Stockton GP said, "It's a shame, we have to fix that." People have the right to be in good health at the age of retirement.
