Being a new Bravo housewife is not easy, but you know what? Being new to no matter what is really difficult. And it's especially difficult to meet new friends as an adult, as Jennifer Aydin testifies on Real New Jersey Housewives. She's the new girl (well, one of the new girls, with Jackie) and, judging by the way she acted on the girls' trip to Oklahoma, Jennifer is trying very hard to make friends. Real housewives from New Jersey – and fail miserably until now.
Margaret, being the adorable and obliging girl she is, took all Housewives to her friend Polly, Okla., For a long weekend of cowboys, caravans, filming and, of course, theater. The drama is always a given. Teresa and Melissa and their persistent quarrel over the time spent by Melissa's husband, Joe, with their father, came largely from this story. But Jennifer? Jennifer picked up everything at the end. Throughout the trip, Jennifer was one of the stories most shared by other housewives – including Polly -.
For example, Polly pointed out the incredible sunsets that she sees on her ranch, and Jennifer had to tell how she could see Manhattan from her home, as well as some great, hot sunsets that are way better than that bedtime of Sun. She refused to stop talking about her 16 bathrooms in North Jersey. She refused to go near the caravan in which one of the women – Dolores is still at stake – had to sleep. And she hated the music and drinks at the party Polly organized for her last night and informed the host. Jennifer's vibe throughout the trip was "I'm above everything" and it was hard to watch.
Jackie, Melissa and Margaret tried to give him the benefit of the doubt during a conversation before breakfast. Maybe Jennifer is really trying to fit in, said Melissa, and all that is said is simply to make it better or more interesting for the rest of the group. Which is a right thing to do – many people feel that they have to offer something other than their beautiful personality to make new friends.
And this group is hard! Two of the women on Real housewives from New Jersey are literally families and others have known each other for decades, which is really intimidating to break the group dynamic. Once Jennifer gets acquainted with the ladies and relaxes more, this peabad will disappear. Or at least that's what Melissa hopes.
But things got worse before they got better, Jennifer being really insulting Polly and the incredible hospitality she offered to women. Jennifer said that once at the top of the hierarchy, we could not go back, and man, that was the wrong thing to say. As if New Jersey had all this to offer more than Oklahoma? It was a little dull tone, no question. Margaret and Polly sat down Jackie and tried to explain to her that her manners were a little embarrbading, but she just doubled her opinions, giving the impression of not being so rude to tell someone who had in their house that their house was "not the Four Seasons". Yuck.
However, baduming that Jennifer is just trying to leave her mark in a show that engulfs new cast members like Ramona Singer, Pinot Grigio, it's worth noting that even if you're on a reality show, it's hard to make friends as an adult. . And friends who are not colleagues or are related to your children or school? It is impossible.
It's easy to dismiss Jennifer as rude, and maybe she is. She might be. But it is too early to say if what we see is his personality or just a front for the cameras. Viewers, like Melissa and Jackie, should give her the benefit of the doubt, simply because the situation is extremely stressful and new. Jennifer is on her first girl trip since before having children, with a group of women she does not know, and, oh yes, everything will be on TV. Hopefully it will soften as it settles, but for the moment, empathize for a situation that most of us have known. Without the cameras and the eyes turning on the barbecue, probably.
