White would have offered his services to Wallabies in trouble, while putting his name in the ring of the role of Japan's head coach Jamie Joseph after the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
Rugby Australia's board of directors and management are scheduled to meet in early December to discuss the future of incumbent head coach Michael Cheika with the national team after a horrific four-game season.
Cheika badistant coaches Stephen Larkham, Nathan Gray and Simon Raiwalui are also reported to be under pressure.
