ANDM lost Tesfaye Getachew, a comrade and a convinced reformer

The National Democratic Amhara Movement (ANDM) has lost Tesfaye Getachew who is supposed to to be a notable reformer and man of confidence of the chief of the region, Gedu Andargachew.

He died Wednesday in the United States. He was not sick for a long time and his death is perceived as a sudden death. Based on a report from Amhara Mbad Media Agency (AMMA), he was feeling bad recently and traveled to the United States to pursue medication with the support of friends, family and government. He was admitted to the George Washington Hospital in Washington DC, where he died at the age of 48.

Tesfaye was also a staunch supporter of the ongoing political reform. The news of his death came as his party, ANDM, was preparing for a grand purge of elements that would be uncomfortable with the ongoing political change and reform measures or who would work with reactionary elements.
