Saudi Aramco signed $ 27.5 billion worth of agreements with international suppliers and service providers during its recent In Kingdom Total Value Add event (IKTVA) in Dammam.

Aramco's IKTVA program is based on its Vision 2030, a long-term strategic plan to reduce the kingdom's reliance on oil and diversify the country's economy.
The program requires suppliers and service providers operating in the kingdom to reach 70% local content by 2021.
Local content standards aim to force service providers to export 30% of local production of energy goods and services by 2021, Aramco said in a statement.
The share of local content in Saudi Arabia is also expected to increase over the next decade.
