These obstacles are preventing Africa from freeing epidemic-prone diseases and compromising the delivery of the AU health program, the agency said.

Slow adoption of useful technological innovations; Inadequate acquisition and use of diagnostic data for the benefit of the patient and the program is another challenge.

At the same time, there is precariousness in laboratory networks, high cost and inefficient examinations and insufficient leverage to negotiate better prices and conditions.

In parallel with the situation, the AU is committed to contributing to the elimination or eradication of diseases targeted by international health regulatory bodies, such as HIV, including the elimination of mother-to-child transmission. child, multidrug-resistant tuberculosis, malaria, etc. viral hepatitis, cervical cancer and other badually transmitted infections (syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia).

AU plans also include reducing barriers to the early detection, prevention and treatment of noncommunicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer.
