Amhar region chief Gedu Andargachew reportedly led a delegation to the United States.
His entourage will travel to five US cities: Washington DC, Dallas, Seattle, Los Angeles and Atlanta. The goal is to hold a public meeting with the inhabitants of these cities in the Amhara region of Ethiopia.
They are expected to arrive in Washington on Saturday, December 1, and programs are scheduled in these cities from December 2 to 12.
The knowledge transfer and ongoing changes in Ethiopia are key points on the agenda of the discussions.
Local intellectuals and business owners, among others, should participate in the discussion.
The Ethiopian embbady in the United States is not only informed about the visit, but some of the coordinators of the visit come from the embbady. For example, Demeke Zemene, consul at the Ethiopian embbady in Washington DC, is part of the coordinators' committee who made a statement to the press about the visit.
