Harris rebounded after failing in the first run, with 62 points in the second run of Victoria on a difficult Gabba bridge.

"Marcus Harris is probably the guy I did not really play with," said Khawaja captain Queensland.

"I have not seen much Marcus in concert, but he looks like a very good player.

"He put away our bad balls and was positive in the way he played, which is important.

"He's playing really well right now, I hope it will mean more races for him."

Before the Shield Shock, Langer said Harris and Victorian captain Peter Handscomb were fighting for last place in his top six.

Handscomb responded by hitting 81 and 53 against the Bulls in Gabba.

But Harris seemed confident about his confidence in a Test call after playing his second loss in half a century against Queensland under coach Trevor Hohns.

"It was disappointing to go out for not a lot [in first innings] but scoring a point on the board during the second excavation session gave me some confidence in myself, "Harris said.

"It was not an easy wicket to score but it was good to spend time in the middle.

"He [the Shield match] was probably less annoying than last week when I knew I had to keep performing [to make the Test squad].

"I'm hitting as well as I've never beaten, I think."
