After Oleksandr Usyk's victory over Tony Bellew, everyone was telling themselves that the undisputed heavyweight champion would move to the heavyweight category in 2019, and even though promoter Eddie Hearn still thinks he's will do it, he notes that there are fights that could get Usyk to stay at cruiserweight.

The good news for those hoping to see Usyk (16-0, 12 KO's) go up is: Andre Ward is retired and Adonis Stevenson is expected to ride and cross the promotional lines to face Usyk. So none of these fights seems likely.
As for Usyk among heavyweights, there are many, of course. Anthony Joshua seems to be his main goal, but it would come after testing the waters under the new weight, not right away. Even the Whyte-Chisora winner might be a bit too much for a first heavyweight fight.
So we'll have to wait to see what Usyk will do, but unless a surprise like Ward's come out of his retirement to face him, it looks like he'll make progress.
