ADDIS ABABA, July 20 (Xinhua) – Violent clashes between communities on the border of Ethiopia's largest Oromia regional state and Southern region has forced at least 970,000 people to flee their homes since April, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said Friday.
According to IOM's Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) badessments, 822,187 people in Gedeo area of Southern region and at least 147,040 people in West Guji area of Oromia region are displaced due to the violent inter-communal clashes.
