Jamie Carragher has pointed fingers at Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi following the defeat against Manchester City.

The Gunners were beaten 3-1 at Etihad. Sergio Aguero scored all three goals for the Premier League champion.

City seemed to target Mustafi and Stephan Lichtsteiner on the right side – the German defender surprised in opening match.

Sky Sports reporter Carragher spoke to Arsenal's defensive duo and suggested Mustafi to fight since moving to North London in 2016.

"Lichtsteiner is not good enough, maybe you could argue because of his age," said Carragher full-time.

"But the guy next to him, Mustafi, has never been good enough since the day he stepped through the door and that's why all goals have been achieved.

"To see Arsenal defend itself like that, Unai Emery has a big job to do."

Carragher's comments were corroborated by Alex Scott, a board member who hit veteran Swiss defender Lichtsteiner.

"He's everywhere, he does not know when to stop his player," she added.

"He's leaving … a little half-shit and that's why between him and (Alex) Iwobi, they get caught on this side."
