Mumbai: Manufacturers of Kangana Ranaut-starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has not yet released rights of about 1.5 crore on workers and young artists, according to the Federation of Film Employees of the Federation of Western India .

The film, due out on January 25, is currently in post-production. The producers shot parts of the film at Filmcity in the suburbs of Mumbai.

Filming was interrupted Wednesday afternoon halfway due to non-payment of contributions of workers, technicians and novice artists.

"It's been three months, but they have not erased the daily workers' dues, which is about 40 lakh Rs about 90 lakh should be paid to the light seller and 25 lakh to the novice artists." The producer (Kamal Jain ) had Ashok Dubey, secretary general of the Federation of Western Indian Cinema Employees (FWICE), told PTI.

Film Studio Setting and Allied Mazdoor union workers blocked the work on the sets. The workers' union then turned to FWICE to ask for help in this case.

"We had a bit of work left, we spoke to Kamal Jain the first week of November to resolve this payment problem, but now he has stopped answering our calls." He said he would not pay. the workers if the shots stop, "Dubey said.

According to Dubey, FWICE plans to write a letter to Prime Focus, a company working on Manikarnika post-production and the Central Film Certification Board (CBFC), in order not to work on the film and allow it until payments are made.

"Producers need to understand the fate of these workers, technicians and novice artists, there is no security on the plateaux, there is no insurance for them. quality of food on the trays is not always good and there is also a question of hygiene.

"We are also planning to meet with Kirit Somaiya, chairman of the labor committee," he added. When he contacted Jain, he remained unavailable for comments.
