"Bird Box" hit record highs on Netflix, as more than 45 million people watched the thriller starring Sandra Bullock during its first week, ETOnline reported.

The drama debuted on Steam Service on Dec. 21, and the company said the film set a Netflix record for most viewers during its first week.

Netflix does not usually publish viewing statistics, but the company felt compelled to share the figures of the film on Twitter.

"I took my headband this morning to discover that 45,037,125 Netflix accounts had already watched Bird Box – the best of the first seven days for a Netflix movie!" Netflix tweeted, showing a Bullock GIF who unchecked him and said, "Oh, my God."

In "Bird Box", Bullock plays the mother of two children who wander blindfolded through deadly terrain, trying to find refuge while facing danger at every turn, ETOnline reported.
