Netflix will reinvent some of Roald Dahl's most iconic stories, including Charlie and the chocolate factory, Matilda, the BFG, and Twits.
The streaming service on Tuesday announced a partnership with The Roald Dahl Story Company, and will develop a new series of animated series based on the most iconic and beloved stories of the author.
This is not the first time that Roald Dahl's stories have been reinvented – the author's stories have long inspired award-winning film and stage productions.
But now, for the first time, Netflix will bring together the highest quality creative, visual and writing teams to extend the story of this unprecedented series of premium animation series. and special programs for audiences of all ages and ages. families to enjoy together.
Netflix said it wants to stay true to Dahl's spirit and tone, while creating an imaginative narrative universe that extends far beyond the pages of the books themselves.
Roald Dahl's widow, Felicity Dahl, said:

Production of the first animated series of Netflix Dahl is expected to begin in 2019.
