A Dutch Formula 1 Grand Prix will be included in the draft calendar of the race events for 2020, announced Tuesday Telegraaf.
The newspaper says that its "paddock sources" confirm that the direction of the Formula 1 is committed to organize a race in the Netherlands "on paper".
Zandvoort is in pole position to host the Grand Prix with Assen as reinforcements, the paper said. To be able to make the race in such a short space, it is necessary to find between 30 and 40 million euros, taking into account the annual amount of 20 million euros required to organize the race.
Prime Minister Mark Rutte has already stated that no government money would be allocated to the event.
A study released by city council and trail owners a year ago revealed that there was no insurmountable organizational, technical or logistical reason why a Formula 1 race could not return to the resort.
The last Grand Prix took place on the track, in the heart of the coastal dunes, in 1985 and was won by Niki Lauda.
Among the events currently held on the circuit, which was built for the first time after the Second World War, is the Formula Three race.
