No UConn Player Named in the All-American Athletic Conference Football Teams
Representatives of the American Athletic Conference also have a representative from Connecticut. Isaiah Wright, a graduate of Kingswood Oxford, was named player of the conference each year.
However, no UConn player was named in the first or second team, nor designated as an honorable selection. This is the second time since the beginning of the conference in 2013 that a team has no representatives joining the UConn 2014 team.
Quarterback David Pindell led all quarterbacks with 1,139 rushing yards. In conference, Pindell racked up 842 yards in eight games and only Memphis midfielder Darrell Henderson had more yards on the floor. He also finished second in total attack in CAA play. Pindell had three conference games in AAC with less than 100 smuggler ratings. Only two quarters were selected in the team and it is difficult to argue against McKenzie Milton, UCF, who also played the role of the attacking player of the conference, nor with Eriq King , of Houston, which ranks in the top 10 national total attack two quarters honored by the conference.
Luke Magliozzi set a record in one season averaging 42.9 yards per puck with just two touchdowns on 63 kicks. However, James Smith of Cincinnati and Thomas Bennett of Tulsa rank respectively fourth and fifth among the FBS bettors.
Aaron McLean was the third of the AAC's tight ends with 32 receptions and 396 yards at the front desk, but he was not honored among the three tight ends.
