The British company Vodafone, Safaricom's parent company, will authorize the use of the M-Pesa trade name in an Ethiopian bank while Safaricom will host servers in Nairobi, a source-based telecommunications industry told Reuters.

The Ethiopian state telecommunications monopoly, Ethio telecom, will provide the service, the source added.
