Sales growth at Morrisons slows during Christmas

LONDON (Reuters) – Morrisons Britain's fourth biggest supermarket group, the forecast was not met as sales growth slowed in retail and wholesale sales during the key Christmas period.

The grocer based in Bradford, North England, said same-store sales, excluding fuel, rose 3.6% in the nine weeks to January 6th. This increase is comparable to badysts' average forecasts, which forecast growth of 4.1% and growth of 5.6%.

Morrisons however indicated that his expectations for the 2018-2019 fiscal year, ending February 3, were unchanged.
