Shawn Mendes makes the cover of Rolling stoneThe December issue. An exclusive video with behind-the-scenes footage of her photo shoot shows the singer-songwriter who changes it on the set.

Photographed by photographer Ruven Afanador, Mendes (and his guitar) were stars of the 1896 studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The perfectly tousled hair, the 20 year old young man seemed to be the ideal dream of the teenager while he charmed the camera.

For his cover, Mendes took writer Patrick Doyle to Budapest and Lisbon where the star spoke frankly about everything from his worries, encounters, rumors about his baduality and even drugs. "I like the weed," he said, referring to a birthday trip to Amsterdam with his friends. "I would not want to tweet – not yet, at least – but it's really good for me. When I'm home, I'll smoke, and then play guitar for seven hours. Mendes also indicated his interest in the "shrooms" trials.

He also shared his rules to achieve fame at such a young age in the 21st century. "Rule number one: go to the gym every day. Second rule: two singing lessons per day. Rule three: never say no to a selfie. "

Earlier this year, he released his third self-titled album. With contributions from Khalid, Julia Michaels, John Mayer and Ed Sheeran, the album made its number one debut at Number One.
