In the second part of the interview with Walta Information (see Part I here), former Chief of Staff, General Tsadkan Gebretensae, addressed many sensitive political issues.

Although he appears to be in favor of constitutional reform, given what he saw as a lack of experience in drafting the constitution, he tends to defend Tigray's position on controversial issues such as Wolkait and Raya.

He was quite explicit when he expressed his point of view on the subject. The way in which these regions were delimited with the Tigray was not erroneous to him according to linguistic criteria. And he then slips to an ambivalent position when he points out that the problem would have been different if the problem was history rather than language.

The intention to take him back by force, he added, has provoked in the Tigray anger that he seems to marry.

Regarding political sentiment in Alamata, he said he noticed that "we do not get the attention we deserve", not an "identity issue".

In conclusion, he stressed that the war should be avoided. If this happens, he says, even the federal army might not defeat him.
