Six people are being killed in the Benishangul Gumuz region of Ethiopia as a result of violence, the Ethiopian State Broadcaster (EBC) reported on Thursday.

Abera Bayeta, head of the office for peace and security in the region, told EBC that the violence had occurred in the Metekel area in the Dangur region.

The violence began between the Dangur workers, but then spread to Manbuk, triggering an intervention by the region's special force and the Ethiopian Defense Force.

The people involved in the violence are still not in detention and the authorities in the region claim that they are working there.
