ENGLAND GARETH SOUTHGATE SEND MESSAGE TO SUPPORTERS BEFORE EURO FINAL

“The streets around Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square are full of fans. We have officers on site,” police said in a tweet,

“We urge everyone to protect themselves and look out for each other. We have seen people jumping off streetlights or signs, it could easily lead to injury.”

Around 60,000 fans are expected to fill the stadium for the final.

England are in the middle of one of the best Euro races in the history of the national team. Since 2000, England had only reached the quarter-finals. The team was in the semifinals in 1996 and finished third in 1968.

Sunday represents a chance for England to win their first major trophy since 1966 when they won the World Cup.

Italy won the Euro in 1968 and were second in the tournament twice, in 2000 and 2012.
