Eva Mendes took a social media hiatus after daughter said she was ‘too much on the phone’

She has gone almost silent on Instagram over the past month.

And Eva Mendes revealed on Saturday that her absence on social media came after one of her young daughters was disappointed with the attention she was giving her phone.

The 46-year-old actress was inspired to make the admission after sharing a post encouraging parents to let their kids call them.

Eva reposted a tweet from the @latinxparenting account on how to deal with the “disrespect” of children.

“Let your children call you. It is not a lack of respect. It’s healthy, ”he began.

“Children can be so fiercely aligned with their worth that they won’t take anything less than the respect they deserve. They won’t take any BS. Not even from you, ”the message continued.

“Congratulations, you are raising an independent child.

In her caption, Eva explained, “ I haven’t posted lately because my little one told me I was on the phone too much.

“I could tell she was taking it personally. And she’s a child, of course, she would take that personally. They take things personally, unless we do everything we can to make them understand that it is not personal, ”she explained.

“ So we had a good conversation, I apologized and promised her that I would be conscious. I realized that just because I’m always at home with them doesn’t mean I’m always there.

Eva’s post was her first since Dec. 29, when she wished makeup artist Shirley Raines, who administers homeless people living in the Skid Row neighborhood of downtown Los Angeles, a happy birthday.

Her latest in a series of Instagram posts came on December 17, when she cut out an iconic record cover of opera singer Maria Callas to snap a photo of herself.

“My little girl wanted to cut out Maria Callas’ face on the record cover. I died quietly a little inside but quickly said yes. The guilt of mom’s pandemic in full effect, ” she admitted in her legend.

In October, Eva joked to the Sydney Morning Herald that being in quarantine ‘sometimes feels like we’re running some kind of guesthouse with very drunk and aggressive customers.’

“ We really feel like we are working in a hotel, and customers are angry and bossy and asking for food to be brought to them. And by the time they fall asleep, all that’s left is to clean up and talk about how they treated us that day!

The Hitch star has stayed on the sidelines for the past several years as she focused on educating her daughters Esmeralda, six, and Amada, four, whom she shares with husband Ryan Gosling, 40.

The couple met in 2011 on the set of their movie The Place Beyond The Pines, which starred Ryan and Bradley Cooper in lead roles and was released the following year.

The cast and sweetheart kicked off an artistic collaboration when she appeared in Ryan’s first film Lost River as the cabaret performer Cat, who plays a bloody role for her clients.

The experimental and critical film was a commercial flop, and it also marked Eva’s last film to date as she left Hollywood to focus on raising her children.

The actress has spoken several times in recent years about the possibility of returning to the screen.

She told HuffPost Australia in October that the Disney movies might be the only thing she could act in because she didn’t want to be involved in violence or anything that made her kids ’embarrassed’.
