Lilly said that she and South of Heaven director Aharon Keshales both wanted her character to look like “the sun and the source of life” in the movie.

“I chose for her to have naturally blonde hair and a warmer sort of complexion so that she was glowing, healthy, vibrant and full of life,” the Lost star said.

“But this interview got really tough because I wanted her to look like a natural blonde.”

She also took on the challenge of having her hair cut very short before filming began, a decision she made for fun and not for the character.
