Although Apple’s iCloud and Google Photos are two of the most popular choices for backing up photos, Ever has been able to gain an following over the past seven years. Unfortunately, that moment has come to an end as the service is shutting down and users’ photos and videos are scheduled to be deleted on August 31.

Never started to share the news recently with her clients via email as well as on her website. The company points to competition from Apple and Google as the main reason for going unsustainable.

It is with a heavy heart that we plan to close the Ever service on August 31, 2020. The service has been around for over seven years, but with increasing competition in recent years from photo storage products from Apple and Google (excellent products in their own right, and worth a look as an alternative), Ever service is no longer sustainable.

Customers have a week to upload a copy of their photos and videos with the servers set to delete everything on August 31.

Never detailed the content export process:

  • Log into the Ever website or your mobile app.
  • If you are using the website, the export button will appear on the far right of the secondary navigation bar. You can choose to export your photos and videos in the order they were downloaded or by year of capture.
  • For all mobile apps, the “Export photos and videos” option appears under Account settings. You can access the account settings by double-selecting the gear icon at the top right.

Follow our step-by-step guide on backing up your photos and videos with iCloud if you aren’t already.

thank you, Excited!
