Every Google Chrome user should click this button now

I know a lot of you are using Google Chrome. Despite its flaws – I’m talking about how it eats up RAM – it’s a good browser with a great ecosystem of extensions.

And that’s pretty safe.

But you can do your part to make it safer.

Like clicking on the Security controle button.

So where is the Security controle button? The easiest way to find it is to type it in your address bar and hit enter:

chrome: // settings / safetyCheck

Alternatively, you can enter Settings and click on Security controle on the left side.

The Security controle the button is right there. Clicking on it does four things:

• Checks for Google Chrome updates
• Check if any of your stored passwords have been compromised
• Checks if Safe Browsing is enabled and gives you a link to change these settings
• Check for harmful extensions (not a bad idea given the latest debacle with The Great Suspender)

If you want more protection, you can activate Improves protection under Safe navigation, and this will give you much greater security, but it does involve consenting to your browsing data being sent to Google.
