From disney Nice to meet you released in theaters in 2007, fans are clamoring for a sequel. Now, after years of patiently waiting, our wish is finally coming true as Disney recently announced that a live-action fairytale follow-up will follow Disney +.
So what can fans expect from the Nice to meet you after, Disillusioned? Here’s everything we know about the upcoming film so far.
The sequel would take place after happily forever
In 2007, Disney fans were introduced to Giselle (Amy Adams), a cartoon princess who enters the real world, in the movie. Nice to meet you.
The film follows Giselle as she is transported into the live action world of New York City by an evil queen (Susan Sarandon), who doesn’t want her to marry Prince Charming (James Marsden).

After landing in the Big Apple, Giselle meets Robert Philip, a single dad and cynical Manhattan divorce lawyer who doesn’t believe in true love. Shortly after the meeting, Giselle’s sense of fun and belief in forever happiness begins to rub off on Robert. Eventually, the two fall in love, even though Robert has a fiancé (Idina Menzel).
The film ends with Giselle and Robert sharing “the kiss of true love,” getting married and forming a happy family with daughter Morgan in New York City.
While many of us never thought to see Giselle and Robert again, it turns out we were wrong.
According to Disney, a follow-up film to the original, called Disillusioned, is currently in the works and will be available on Disney +.
According to Collider, the sequel would find Giselle “happily interrogating her forever and accidentally triggering life-changing events for everyone in the real world and in the bustling realm of Andalasia.
Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey reprise their roles
What would a Nice to meet you sequel without its original cast?
While it’s not clear if everyone in the first film will join Disillusioned, Adams and Dempsey have signed on to reprise their roles – and we couldn’t be more excited!

In January 2021, the Grey’s Anatomy alum told Good Morning America that he “just got this script for the second movie.” He also posted updates on the much anticipated (and long overdue) sequel.
“I’m starting to go over and take notes together,” Dempsey said, adding, “We’re talking we’ll start filming this in the spring.”
Although Adams has not confirmed or denied her involvement in the follow-up film, she is scheduled to reprise her role because Nice to meet you to be without it?
When will “Disenchanted” be released?
At the time of this writing, we don’t know when Disillusioned will be available to stream on Disney +.
But since filming will hopefully begin this spring, there’s a chance the movie will be released in 2022. So, until that long-awaited sequel is out, we’ll be singing “That’s How You Know” to the top of our lungs. to pass time!
