His thoughts behind his response were due to design flaws with the specific card, a correction NVIDIA made several years ago in the original design that other manufacturers found workarounds to fix. The EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 has a faulty design in the fan controller. In the process, the game’s framerate is locked through the in-game menus. EVGA quickly began to allow the creation of standard and advanced RMAs to alleviate issues that arose during the game due to their design. Amazon issued a statement denying that gaming was not a problem, but released an update to stop any overclocking while gaming that would cause an issue with cards from any GPU manufacturer.

Freeman explains that the fault is in the noise of the I2C bus where the RPM data is read. He continues to claim that all users using EVGA’s Precision software will be covered due to bus filtration when reading data.
