Azah Awasum, Derek Frazier or Xavier Prather will be this season’s Big Brother USA winner and the very first African-American winner in 23 seasons.
Kyland Young, the 29-year-old account manager from California, was rejected by Derek on Thursday’s eviction show.
Gaining both the head of the family and the veto power, Xavier decided to leave his appointments unchanged, thus putting Derek on the spot.
“Let me first say that on a personal level, I love you Azah and I love you Kyland. In terms of the game, I made it clear from the very beginning that I don’t owe anyone anything. I played this game only for myself. At this point, I voted to kick Kyland out, ”Derek said while voting.
Things then turned sour between a bellicose Kyland and Xavier.
“Any reason?” Kyland asked Xavier as he prepared to leave the house.
“It’s just the game,” Xavier replied, shrugging his shoulders.
“I just don’t get the advice,” Kyland said, wanting to know why Xavier hadn’t warned him that he was going to be eliminated.
Derek explained that he couldn’t beat Kyland and therefore preferred to face Azah in the final.
“I wonder why there wasn’t a warning from THIS guy. I kept you in the house last week, ”Kyland said, standing right in front of Xavier.
“This is how the game goes, Kyland,” Xavier said once again. “I wanted to warn you, but I respect you too much as a player and since he was the only one voting for the expulsion I knew you would probably convince him to vote another way.”
Out of nowhere, Kyland then raised Xavier’s nephew.
“I thought about the whole story of Kobe, raising him to be a man and face challenges,” Kyland said.
“Are you talking about my nephew right now?” Xavier said surprised.
Kyland continued to direct Xavier live on national television. Kyland said Xavier’s nephew is named Kobe Bryant and that Kobe has never backed down from a challenge.
“I suggest you stop talking about my nephew,” Xavier replied sternly.
“I think it’s not really up to me. If your nephew has no one to turn to… ”Kyland continued.
“Keep talking about my nephew, Kyland,” Xavier warned, now angry, cutting Kyland off.
“Your nephew has no one to turn to in raising him,” Kyland said, taking matters even further.
Xavier told him to leave the house. A laughing Kyland finally left after being asked to do so by host Julie Chen-Moonves.
In a special episode of Big Brother USA on Friday nights at 8 p.m. ET, the last three will hear about their families. In Sunday’s episode, the first round of the HoH season finale will be played. The Big Brother USA finale airs next Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET on Global.
