Ex actor Chet Hanks receives restraining order amid abuse allegations

Actor Chet Hanks and his ex-girlfriend Kiana Parker have filed a lawsuit against each other following a heated argument between the two at their home in Texas in January.

A judge in Fort Bend County, a suburb of Houston, granted Parker a temporary protection order against Hanks, son of Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks, in January. Parker said in court documents that Hanks had been physically and verbally abusive for months, the Houston Chronicle reported on Wednesday.

The actor, whose legal name is Chester Hanks, has also been banned from owning a firearm. The couple had been dating since 2020 and lived together in Sugar Land.

Hanks claimed he broke up with Parker after confronting her about his theft. According to documents obtained by People, Hanks filed a lawsuit against Parker in early March, accusing him of theft and assault in connection with a violent incident that took place on January 8 at their home.

According to an affidavit filed in Parker’s application for protection order, Hanks has been violent and threatening towards him in a series of incidents beginning in October.

In one such incident, Hanks said he would “blow [Parker’s] brains “and” him too blast his brains out, “according to Parker’s affidavit.

Parker claimed she told Hanks in January that she was leaving him, at which point he became agitated and verbally abusive. She said she returned home on January 8 with a mover, her assistant and a handyman to collect her things. Hanks came towards her with a knife, prompting her to swing a pot at him before running out the door, according to her affidavit. Parker filed a police report; Hanks was gone when the authorities arrived.

In Hanks’ version of events, Parker showed up at the house on January 8 with “three menacing tall men,” one of whom was armed with a gun. He said Parker hit him in the face with a pot and attacked him with a knife, spilling blood.

On Wednesday, TMZ posted images that appear to have come from the incident on January 8. In it, Hanks films himself bleeding from his head after a fight that is not shown on camera. Before the clip went black, Parker, who was holding a pot in his left hand, appeared to be swinging towards him with his right hand.

Hanks made headlines earlier this week after launching a product line under the White Boy Summer brand.
