A former camera assistant on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” claimed that the backstage isn’t much different from the toxic work environment depicted in the movie “The Devil Wears Prada,” according to a report.

The woman, who spoke anonymously to Australian radio show Stav, Abby & Matt, joined a chorus of staff members speaking out on workplace culture, saying workers only tolerated her for their CV.

“It’s a bit like ‘The devil wears Prada’. Everyone tries to get to the [end of a] year, ”said the ex-staff member, referring to the movie Meryl Streep in which the star plays a demanding magazine editor, who was often cruel to his assistants.

“It’s just a badge of honor to have that and have it on your resume.”

The ex-worker claimed they often worked 10 hours a day on the show – but added the problems were “more than that”.

“These are fundamental rights; being paid overtime, water in hot weather, ”she said. “If you ask that, you are told, well, there is the door.

Other former staff members have also recently spoken out against the 62-year-old star and her show, saying she has done nothing to intervene in a toxic culture.

Some alleged that there had been racism and sexual misconduct on the part of the show’s senior executives.

DeGeneres addressed the workplace allegations in a memo to staff, saying she was “sorry” and promised to make changes.

WarnerMedia has since launched an official investigation into the show with help from a third-party company.
