Exynos W920 is Samsung’s new chipset for smartwatches
Samsung smartwatches have used the Exynos 9110 chipset for the past two years. It was introduced with the Galaxy Watch in 2018. The chipset has since been used for the Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch Active 2, and Galaxy Watch 3.
The Galaxy Watch 4 is a drastically different product from its predecessors. He doesn’t use Tizen unlike the others. The upcoming smartwatch runs on the new Android-based Wear platform that Samsung has developed in collaboration with Google.
Samsung has also created a new chipset for the device. The Galaxy Watch 4 will be the first Samsung connected watch to integrate the Exynos W920 chipset. The processor delivers 1.25 times faster processing times than the Exynos 9110 and 8.8 times smoother graphics performance. It is associated with 1.5 GB of RAM. That’s a 1.5-fold improvement over the Galaxy Watch 3.
All that extra muscle will ensure that Galaxy Watch 4 owners can take full advantage of the extra capabilities of their smartwatch. They’ll need it to run any apps they can get from the Google Play Store.
