In a new video, popular YouTuber Filip Koroy (aka EverythingApple Pro) has once again teamed up with prolific leaker Max Weinbach to reveal “a lot of exclusives” on the iPhone 13 lineup, including audio, design upgrades. and serious camera. Koroy notes that several of them are “confirmed”.

IPhone 13 Pro design

First, Koroy reveals that after several failed attempts, Apple will finally release a “matte black” version of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The finish is said to be similar to the ‘ghost black’ of the Galaxy S21 Ultra (which was a big hit on release), with Koroy rating the new option as ‘very likely to happen’. On the flip side, Weinbach says an orange finish Apple was testing for the line won’t do (concept rendering above).

Apple is also making a convenient upgrade to the iPhone 13 Pro line, with Koroy saying that an improved coating will be applied to the phones’ stainless steel frames to make them more resistant to smudges and fingerprints.

Separately, Weinbach endorses recent leaks that Apple will reduce the size of the notch across the entire iPhone 13 lineup. He says the design change will see Apple improve the microphone at the same time, creating a cleaner sound at the same time. using beam forming.

IPhone 13 Pro cameras

“Here’s a really juicy one,” Koroy says. “Max Weinbach’s source confirms that the camera will be getting a makeover on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max and it has a lot of details.”

Breaking it down, Koroy reports that Apple is “really trying” to reduce both the protrusion of the individual lenses on both models as well as the mass of the glass case around them. This year, Apple will also align the thickness of the two camera units. Currently, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is thicker because it uses improved sensors, which may signal a return to feature parity.

Next, Koroy reveals that Apple is building superior software optical stabilization for both models. “Essentially, when you’re focused on a target, that target will stay in frame no matter how nervous your hand is. The operating system will automatically cut and crop and stay focused on that image. If this is correct, it is a potentially revolutionary improvement.

That’s not all. Weinbach explains that Apple is making sweeping changes to Portrait mode on both iPhone 13 Pro models:

“Portrait mode on the new iPhones will be significantly overhauled,” he says. “It will now rely heavily on a new process that combines both lens data and LiDAR. LiDAR will be specifically used for much better edge detection. Items such as smaller gaps in traffic signs are now expected to be detected by the new process. this goes hand in hand with portrait video as an overhaul of the portrait video mode that Apple is working on for its 2021 iPhones. ”Max Weinbach.

Koroy comments that pairing optical stabilization and portrait mode upgrades “is going to be a killer combo” and – if they’re right about that plus three other camera upgrades they’ve got. leaked earlier this month – so I totally agree.

iPhone 13 Mini

Finally, Koroy claims that the poor sales of the iPhone 12 Mini will not lead to an untimely end of the model. “Max confirms that the iPhone 13 Mini will continue,” he explains, revealing that there will be battery improvements (the main weakness of its predecessor) via a “new, more efficient A-series SoC” rather than a much bigger battery.

All of this suggests that the iPhone 13 lineup, especially the Pro models, won’t be the iterative upgrades many have come to expect with fundamental changes in design, photography, software, and battery life. Combine that with leaks indicating that Apple will also use next-generation 5G modems with global coverage and improved energy efficiency, incorporate a new “ disruptive ” WiFi standard, dual storage, and introduce on-screen Touch ID alongside. Face ID for more mask-friendly security and you’d be right to be excited.

And that’s before we get to folding iPhones.
