Exotic armor, weapon and Xur recommendations for January 1

Here’s the scoop on where to find Xur in Destiny 2, what Exotic items he has for sale on January 1, and if any are worth the shards.

The final week of The Dawning Seasonal Event has arrived as the community races to complete the final stage of the Dawning Spirits mission. With a community-wide goal of 1,000,000,000 Spirits won during the event, players fell out of the intended trajectory and risked failing in the limited-time mode. Fortunately, Bungie made a change to triple the amount players could earn and now the community is back on track with days to go.

In addition to The Dawning, the Deep Stone Crypt raid continues to present new challenges for players to overcome with each reset. This raid has also proven to be incredibly popular with gamers and has already seen a large number of players attempting it since its arrival. In fact, a group called The Tracker Network was able to compile the data to determine the most popular weapons used in the raid with the exotic Lament sword leading all the gear, followed by the Heritage shotgun, from Falling Guillotine sword, Xenopage and Ikelos SMG in the lead. the list.

Even with a new year here, Xur kept his resolve to keep visiting Destiny 2 every weekend to bring exotic items with him for purchase. Follow this guide for its location, news on its exotic crypto quest, plus a review of what it’s currently selling for the weekend of January 1, 2021.

Where is Xur?

Over this weekend, players should travel to Watcher’s Grave on Nessus to find the merchant at the top of the massive tree towards the back of the area.

From the Headmaster, head to Nessus and charge into the Watcher’s Tomb. Run to the back of the area where there is a massive tree. Jump until the players find the huge branch where the merchant hangs out.

Class armor and exotic number

While Xur’s role is essentially the same as before the Beyond Light expansion, the Exotic Merchant also offers weekly quests that players can acquire to unlock an Exotic number. Not only are they needed to purchase a second Fateful Engram, but they’re also needed to acquire Exotic Equipment inherited from the new kiosk. Players can earn a new number by making strikes and winning Crucible or Gambit matches. Earn bonus points by playing with clan members or completing more difficult activities.

Other than that, here are Xur’s three pieces of gear this weekend:

Astrocyte Verse – Warlock Helmet

The Astrocyte Verse helmet is a movement-focused exotic solid, similar to the St0MP-EE5 hunter boots or the Rampant Lion titan boots.

Its exotic perk is called Move to Survive, and it allows Blink Warlocks to use the jump move more frequently and from a greater distance. In addition, weapons are ready faster from Blink and the radar remains active. Obviously, this won’t be a top-tier exotic piece for Warlocks as there is much better combat-oriented armor out there. Nonetheless, for players who like to use blink and need a little help with platform-focused activities in Destiny 2, this one is worth a look. The stat roll is also quite interesting on these, as it provides a massive increase in mobility, which is something Warlocks aren’t generally known for. However, this has an extremely low resilience and recovery cost.

Improved void. Statistical values:

  • Mobility +29
  • Resilience +2
  • Recovery +3
  • Discipline +7
  • Intelligence +15
  • Strength +7

The Bombers – Hunter’s Leg Armor

The last Exotic item this week is Bombers, initially added to the game during the Season of Dawn. These Exotic Boots come with the perk called Parting Gift which leaves behind an explosive with a short fuse after dodging.

At the end of the day, Bombardiers are not essential. However, while there are much better class Exotics out there for hunters, these are still a fun option to play with. Collectors will no doubt want them back, but for everyone else your mileage may vary depending on what you get out of them.

Improved bow. Statistical values:

  • Mobility +9
  • Resilience +8
  • Recovery +14
  • Discipline +9
  • Intelligence +8
  • Strength +13

One-eyed mask – Titan helmet

At one point, the one-eyed mask made Titan players a feared fighter in the game’s PvP modes. It was the inescapable exoticism thanks to the buffs it provided to the wearer, although in 2019 the article was ultimately nerfed, making Hunters and Warlocks quite happy. While this is still a very PvP-oriented exotic, it certainly isn’t the item it once was. Still, it’s absolutely worth picking up for players who don’t have it or want a better result.

The reason this item is a great crucible item is due to its Vengeance perk. Any enemy that damages the wearer becomes highlighted, and if the player can kill the marked player, he gets a higher shield.

Improved void. Statistical values:

  • Mobility +16
  • Resilience +7
  • Recovery +7
  • Discipline +6
  • Intelligence +12
  • Strength +14

Exotic weapon

Merciless is a heavy weapon that has high damage, especially against a single target. It’s a solid choice in any mode, although night falls and strikes make it a powerful choice. While it was once a safe choice for fans, players who want a little more bang for their buck can actually go for weapons like the Jotunn, which isn’t a powerful weapon and has a bit of tracking as well.

Conserve Momentum continually charges the weapon faster when players receive non-lethal hits, with the cycle resetting once the final kill is complete. Pair that with its other perk, Impetus, players take increased damage for a short time after a quick reload after a kill.

Additional advantages:

  • Chambered compensator
  • Extended Mag
  • Adjusted stock
