The Binding of Isaac: Repentance is released on March 31, 2021, developer Edmund McMillen has announced.
The final “sequel size” expansion for the hugely popular roguelike then arrives on PC via Steam, with consoles to follow later.
The announcement was made via a new trailer, below, which is filled with “nods to the past, present and future,” McMillen teased in a Steam post.
On Twitter, McMillen answered a few questions about this highly anticipated expansion, saying Repentance “will dramatically expand the game, adding tons of new bosses, floors, alternate paths, items, story pieces, challenges, and some amazing characters.”
The Binding of Isaac was released in September 2011 and helped spark renewed interest in the roguelike genre. Eurogamer review The Binding of Isaac came in at 9/10 (remember the review scores?) Since then, there have been expansions, a console release, and spin-offs.
