The NFL Free Agency 2019 is officially launched, while the New England Patriots, Super Bowl champions, seek to strengthen their workforce to try to win a second consecutive title. Here are some of the players Bill Belichick and Co. could watch closely, according to NFL experts.
Ndamukong Suh
ESPN's Matt Bowen identified the best program for 25 of the best free agents available this season and said New England was a potential destination for the 32-year-old defensive tackle. Suh spent last season with the Los Angeles Rams after three seasons with the Miami Dolphins and five seasons with the Detroit Lions. In 2018, he recorded 59 tackles to go with 4.5 sacks.
"The Patriots are negotiating for Michael Bennett, but New England can do more maneuvers here on the defensive line with Trey Flowers, Malcom Brown and Danny Shelton, making their mark on the free agent market," writes Bowen. "The Suh playoff strip tells us that the 32-year-old defensive lineman can still destroy things from multiple alignments. I think of a one-year contract that places Suh with a team in a position to win the title. The Eagles make sense here too.
Golden Tate
The 30-year-old Golden Tate started a season in which he recorded 74 receptions for 795 yards with the Philadelphia Eagles. One of this year's top freestyle outsiders, Tate has had three 1,000-yard seasons with the Lions. It would be expensive for New England to sign. However, it might be interesting to add depth to the position of the slot next to Julien Edelman.

Another potential acquisition put forward by O'Malley is the 37-year-old defensive end. Wake is a five-time professional and ranks third among all active players in sacks (98) and sixth in forced fumbles (22).
