Hot mic catches pilot chanting bay area
An airline pilot’s verbal tirade against the Bay Area was captured by a hot mic over the air traffic control scanner at Mineta San Jose International Airport.
SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) – An airline pilot’s cursed rant against the Bay Area was caught on a burning microphone as he waited for take-off.
The verbal tirade was captured on the air traffic control scanner at Mineta San Jose International Airport on March 13 and archived by Live ATC.
The audio is choppy and the context around the rant remains blurry, according to travel site One Mile at a Time, which was the first to report the incident.
“Fk this place, fucking liberal f-ks,” said the unidentified pilot. He later continued with, “F-king weirdos, probably driving in f-king Hyundais, f-king roads and sh * t going slowly like fk.”

He makes another bizarre statement, “You don’t have bullets unless you’re a rolling coal man f-king, g-ddamnit,” probably in reference to the thick black exhaust that accompanies a diesel engine.

The pilot in question is said to be working for Southwest Airlines according to SFGATE, although the company does not identify the pilot.
“Our corporate culture is based on the principle of treating others with concern and dignity and comments are incompatible with professional behavior and the general respect we demand of our employees,” a spokesperson told the outlet.
