It’s been a tough week for Facebook, and it looks like Friday afternoon had no mercy on the tech giant. After one of their longest outages in company history on Monday, Facebook went down again on Friday afternoon. The outage affected all of Facebook’s properties, including WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram.

“We are aware that some people have difficulty accessing our applications and products”, the company job on Twitter. “We are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience.” Instagram tweeted a similar statement, conjuring up distressed “This Is Fine” vibes with her choice of emoji (🥲).

It doesn’t appear that the outage lasted long, as the services were back up and running for less than 30 minutes after Facebook tweeted about it. But after this week’s more serious outage, the repeated failure could raise concerns about the reliability and security of the app. Repeated outages are of particular concern to small business owners who use Facebook’s tools to communicate with customers, or international users who use WhatsApp as their primary text messaging application.

Monday’s outage was caused by configuration changes to routers in Facebook’s data centers. Facebook told TechCrunch that today’s outage was also due to configuration changes, which impacted people around the world, but was unrelated to Monday’s downtime. .

“Our sincere apologies to all of those who have not been able to access our products in the past few hours. We’ve fixed the problem and everything should be back to normal now, ”a Facebook spokesperson told TechCrunch. Instagram also posted on Twitter that the issue is now resolved, thank users for their memes this week.
