Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on Monday that the social media company plans to provide users with authoritative information on Covid-19 vaccines in development.

Facebook has already contacted the new Biden administration to help them respond to the Covid-19 pandemic, Zuckerberg said.

“There will be a few important things we can do together,” he said. “We are already planning to release authoritative information on vaccines.”

Zuckerberg did not provide additional information on how the company plans to release this information to users. The company also didn’t add anything when contacted for comment.

Although Zuckerberg said in May that social media companies shouldn’t be the arbiters of the truth, Facebook has actually taken a lot of steps to provide accurate information and debunk myths and lies throughout 2020.

In March, the company launched a Covid-19 information center. In August, the company did the same for the 2020 U.S. election with a voting clearinghouse, and in September, Facebook announced it would launch a climate change clearinghouse.

In September, the company also announced new policies designed to limit the spread of health counseling groups, and in October, it announced a new policy banning ads discouraging people from getting vaccinated.
