Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) plans to publish its cryptocurrency, internally called GlobalCoin, in a dozen countries in the first quarter of 2020, according to a report released Friday by the BBC.
The plans for the play will be presented later this summer and testing will begin by the end of the year.
Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg reportedly met with Bank of England Governor Mark Carney in April to discuss crypto. He also reportedly discussed regulatory issues with US Treasury officials and companies such as Western Union (NYSE: WU) reportedly discussed the transfer of funds.
