Yet another player is entering the smart TV arena.
The social media giant Facebook is preparing to launch a streaming device that, like Amazon's Fire Stick, would connect a TV and offer access to an online content library.
This would be part of the Facebook portal family, which includes two smart tablets that allow users to video chat with each other.
The device, expected to be announced this fall, according to The Verge, would join an already-saturated group of smart TV providers, such as Amazon and Apple.

However, unlike its competitors, the Facebook device could include a camera and microphones compatible with the video chat of the platform. In addition, society can also tap into augmented reality, including realistic face effects and interactive stories.
But the main focus will be on streaming: The Information reported in July that Facebook had approached Netflix and Disney to add their content to its material. These companies did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
