The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has resulted in more than 230,000 deaths in the United States and has rightly dominated much of the news cycle for several months, with CNN often using it to criticize conservatives and Trump supporters – but critics believe the so-called “#FactsFirst” network takes a different approach when liberals come together in large groups.
“If CNN wanted to have broader confidence and be listened to on things like the coronavirus, they would have to apply their same condescending takes and sneaky chyrons on death and selfishness to people who went out yesterday,” the editor said in NewsBusters chief Curtis Houck at Fox News.
KIRSTIE ALLEY ACTRESS SAYS CNN IS A ‘BROADCAST OF TERROR’ WITH CORONAVIRUS FEARMONGERING NON STOP
CNN has long been accused of “terrifying people” with 24-hour coverage of the pandemic, with sneaky chyrons blaming the virus on President Trump, anchors shaming anyone caught without a mask, and pundits posing as scientists and doctors offering hot positions on COVID -19.
But CNN’s concerns about the coronavirus pandemic appear to have been softened somewhat by Democratic candidate Joe Biden projected as the winner of the 2020 presidential election.
On Saturday morning, Liberals flocked to the streets to celebrate the race call for Biden, and the network that frequently referred to Trump’s rallies and White House ceremonies as “super spread” events were suddenly less concerned with massive events in the midst of the pandemic.
CNN left anchor Jake Tapper appeared reluctant to present himself as a nuisance to Biden supporters who were partying in the streets on Saturday.
“We also see people wearing masks… mostly masks, they are not socially distanced. Hate to be a scolder here, but we just had the highest infection day in America, ”Tapper told viewers. “It’s good to see people wearing masks, for some of them they slip on their faces, people also have to distance themselves socially, masks are important, however, that’s what the doctors say they are The most important.

Dana Bash rang the bell: “But I can see Sanjay Gupta having a lot of heartburn right now,” referring to the network’s chief medical correspondent and Tapper agreed that many public health officials have probably “waved” watching the celebrations.
“But, again, at least they’re wearing masks,” Tapper repeated.
Tapper even specifically praised voters in his hometown of Philadelphia.
“Philadelphians, realizing the important role they played in this election, took to the streets to celebrate in the Cradle of Freedom, should we say, in this country,” Tapper told Bash. “I’m sorry to interrupt you. I had to say hello to my friends.”
“After admitting that these celebrations were in direct contradiction to guidelines, after their few disposable moments, CNN quickly returned to marveling at so many revelers on the streets,” observed Houck.
Jeffrey McCall, professor at DePauw University and media critic, believes the story of the coronavirus had political implications from the start.
“It didn’t necessarily serve the interests of citizens, but it did serve the interests of the shrill voices of the media and anti-Trump political opponents. Not criticizing the crowds at weekend political celebrations after condemning the Trump campaign crowds as dangerous just shows the inconsistency of political activists, ”McCall told Fox News.
CNN’S CHRIS CUOMO FACES AGAIN WITH CHARGES OF CORONAVIRUS HYPOCRISIA
“When Tapper expressed his concern about being a ‘scolder,’ he essentially recognized the varying standards on the dangers of coronaviruses exhibited in the mainstream media,” McCall said.
“When Tapper expressed concern about being a ‘scolder’, he essentially acknowledged the varying standards on the dangers of coronaviruses exhibited in the mainstream media.”
Tapper and the Network both appeared outraged by a Fox News report that CNN was keeping Biden and Trump supporters on a different level, defending themselves on Twitter with a video of the presenter’s “scolding” line to back them up. claims they had sounded the alarm on Biden supporters partying in the streets.
Tapper’s preoccupation with passing off as a “growl” was radically different from his approach last month when he condemned President Trump for staging rallies. The “State of the Union” anchor closed his Oct. 11 show with a rant against the president for staging rallies amid the pandemic that Tapper called “super-spreader” events.
“[Trump’s] need to organize these gatherings seemingly beyond his concern for those who attend, ”Tapper told viewers last month. “One of President Trump’s skills at this time was to behave with so little respect for basic decency, those who try to meet the standards are accused of being partisan. As if “not behaving recklessly and showing gratuitous disregard for human life” is somehow now a partisan issue. This is not the case.
Tapper then scolded Trump for “reckless behavior” towards the coronavirus and accused him of indulging his ego at the risk of prolonging the pandemic.

“Trump has probably become, personally, a vector of the disease … the president is taking part in actions that could result in loss of life”
“Trump has probably become, personally, a vector for the disease,” Tapper continued in his October rant. “It increases the likelihood that other Americans will contract it by organizing these reckless rallies…. The president takes part in actions that could result in loss of life. ”
Political satirist Tim Young spent much of the pandemic traveling around America and speaking to voters about their concerns about a Washington Times project. Along the way, he remarked that “a lot of people see CNN as a laughing stock and the PR wing of the Democratic Party.”
“CNN has made it clear time and time again that you cannot get COVID from anything that leans to the left,” Young told Fox News.

FLASHBACK: CHRIS CUOMO SLAMS PENCE FOR NOT WEARING A MASK IN THE CLINIC
Young pointed out that CNN called Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to the White House a “super event,” but does not hold the Liberals on the same level.
“You can only catch COVID at Trump gatherings, churches, and small family gatherings like Thanksgiving and Christmas. When you attend a Black Lives Matter riot or a big party for Joe Biden, CNN is clear that you are immune to all airborne viruses, ”Young continued. “Meanwhile, when thousands of liberals scramble the streets of DC and New York for Biden’s yet to be certified victory, they are not passionately condemning him. If it’s not a double standard and a bias, I don’t know what it is.
About 24 hours after Biden was declared the winner, the thin-skinned Tapper changed his tone after being called out for hypocrisy about how he downplayed pro-Biden celebrations over his harsh words on the events of Trump.
As CNN panicked to maintain its credibility after being revealed by Fox News, Tapper asked Biden’s senior campaign adviser Symone Sanders on Sunday morning about the situation while reiterating that the revelers mostly wore masks.
TUCKER CARLSON: THE CURIOUS CASE OF CHRIS CUOMO, HYPOCRITE MASK
“We have seen many celebrations for President-elect Biden’s victory on the streets of so many major American cities … I know, at least from what we saw on screen, a lot of these people wore masks, but not all of them were. Tapper said. “CDC guidelines say, ‘Even if you wear a mask, you should avoid crowds,’ New cases of coronavirus are deteriorating … Does it behoove President-elect Biden to make his supporters understand that crowds is a bad idea during this pandemic, even though people are wearing masks, and he understands that they want to celebrate but shouldn’t take to the streets like this?
Sanders said Biden would speak out on the matter eventually, noted that Biden’s Saturday night speech featured attendees staying in their cars and urged people to be safe and wear masks.
Tapper then concluded the interview without a follow-up question, as the pro-Biden celebrations were never tolerated as “super-broadcaster” or “reckless” events.
Meanwhile, Tapper was hardly the only one criticizing Trump, his supporters and other non-liberals for staging rallies amid the pandemic:
Former New York Times reporter and author Alex Berenson, who has openly criticized COVID lockdowns, believes the hypocrisy is “obvious” and shouldn’t surprise anyone at this point.

“It is absurd for the same people to complain that Trump was putting his supporters at great risk of making Biden fans a lion. Especially when in the next breath they try to scare everyone with news that the cases (positive tests) have hit a new high. We’ve seen a lot and a lot of rules-for-you-not-for-me this year, and this is another example, ”Berenson told Fox News.
CNN even investigated 17 Trump campaign rallies to determine if host counties saw a coronavirus spike after the event. It remains to be seen whether the Liberal Network conducts full investigations into the aftermath of Biden’s victory celebrations.
