WEST PALM BEACH, Florida – A 23-year-old Florida man posing as a doctor and serving jail time as a teenager has been arrested again for fraud and grand theft, police said.
Malachi Love-Robinson was released hours after his arrest Thursday, WPTV reported in West Palm Beach.
Police say Love-Robinson asked his clients to send money to his personal bank account rather than the shipping company he worked for. He is accused of repossessing $ 10,000 belonging to the business.
A police report said Love-Robinson texted the owner of the business, saying he was very sorry and was doing everything he could “to make things right,” the channel reported. of TV. “I don’t want to go to jail,” Love-Robinson said, according to the report.
He pleaded guilty to several charges of fraud, grand theft and practicing medicine without a license stemming from his arrest in 2016.
Patients told investigators Love-Robinson claimed he had multiple degrees, including a doctorate. and a doctor. They didn’t know he was only 18 at the time.
He was accused of stealing $ 35,000 from an elderly patient in 2015, and authorities say he illegally operated a doctor’s office, complete with a desk, lab coat and stethoscope. He was also later charged with grand theft.
Love-Robinson insisted that he was not posing as a doctor, but was a naturopath.
He served almost 21 months in a maximum security prison near Fort Myers.
The records did not list a phone number for Love-Robinson, nor did he have a lawyer.
