The Falcons confirmed a report earlier today, announcing that they had completed an interview with interim head coach Raheem Morris for the full-time position.
Falcons president and CEO Rich McKay said on Dec. 22 that the search committee would interview Morris for the position the defensive coordinator has held since Oct. 12. The Falcons fired general manager Thomas Dimitroff and head coach Dan Quinn after a 0-5 start.
The Falcons are 4-6 under Morris, and five of those losses were five points or less.
“Every day I communicate with Rich McKay,” Morris said. “Twice a week you communicate with Arthur Blank. All of these things are considered interviews. It’s all going to be an interview, and always will be, and always has been. You should always remember this with everything you do.
Morris went 17-31 as the 2009-11 Buccaneers head coach.
