CHICAGO (KWWL) – A spokeswoman for the family of a deceased Chicago woman, whose baby was cut belly with a butcher knife, says the baby is dead.
Family spokeswoman Cecilia Garcia has confirmed a family declaration posted on Facebook that Marlen Ochoa-Lopez's 19-year-old baby died Friday at the Oak Lawn Christ Medical Center.
The baby was in serious condition since the attack of his mother on April 23. Family spokeswoman Julie Contreras said in a statement that Yovanny Jadiel Lopez had died from a serious brain injury.
Ochoa-Lopez's body was found in a garbage bin last month behind the home of a woman charged with the murder of Ochoa-Lopez in Chicago.
According to prosecutors, 46-year-old Clarisa Figueroa claimed that she had given birth to the baby when she took him to the hospital. She and her 24-year-old daughter are charged with first degree murder.
