Famous drug Frank Lucas dead at 88

Frank Lucas, one of the most famous drug leaders in American history, died Thursday night.

TMZ reports that Lucas died in New Jersey. Lucas was taken to a local hospital for an undisclosed health problem and died during the trip. In addition, Lucas's nephew, Aldwan Lassiter, confirmed his death at Rolling Stone.

Lucas was known for his lucrative heroin operation that led Harlem in the 1960s and '70s. His story was intended to introduce drugs directly into South-East Asia using the coffins of the dead soldiers. In an interview, Lucas said he could put six to eight kilograms in each coffin, a figure that has been questioned over time. The drug was called "Blue Magic" street.

Lucas was arrested in 1975 by the DEA raid, which revealed more than $ 584,000 in cash. He was eventually convicted of drug offenses, both federal and national, then sentenced to 70 years in prison before becoming an informant, serving only five years initially. He would do seven more after his return to drug trafficking.
