Fans frustrated with shoddy Olivia Rodrigo merchandise

“I opened it and saw all the seams come out,” she said.

Bahn said she got a refund, but said she was so disappointed with the hat that she tweeted on this subject. Soon she received responses and direct messages from other fans saying they had had similar issues.

“It’s been about a week since I’ve had it, and I haven’t even put it on my head because I was so disappointed with it,” Bahn said. “I try it on and it’s so tight on my head.”

Bahn and other fans who spoke to NBC News said they generally expected the merchandise to take a while to arrive – whether they order from Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande or Lady Gaga. They said they are happy to wait for months as long as the quality of the products is good.

The pandemic has also disrupted the timing of some deliveries, forcing customers to wait even longer for their packages.

The fans are so frustrated, some noting that celebrities and influencers who received merchandise early got better quality items that looked closer to what was advertised, which many tweeted that they had canceled their orders.

Still, there are also fans who seem perfectly happy with their items, based on what they’ve purchased. Several articles on those who bought sweaters from Rodrigo’s store said they liked what they received.

Fans also quickly noted that Rodrigo herself had not made the merchandise and said their anger was not directed at her, but rather at her team. Some say it would be nice if Rodrigo tackled the quality issue, but they really want his customer service team to work with disappointed buyers.
