The third installment of JK Rowling’s Harry potter spin off fantastic beasts and where to find them has set a release date for April 15, 2022, the studio said on Wednesday. It’s Easter weekend next year for the photo, which now has a title: Fantastic Beats: Dumbledore’s Secrets.

Warners takes the film forward from its previous location of July 15, 2022. Remember, all event titles on the Warner Bros. slate are purely theatrical next year, not the day and date on HBO. Max. Warner Bros. had previously suspended Easter weekend for an untitled movie event.

Easter weekend has always been a dynamic time for Warner Bros. with such a notable box office debut as Batman vs. Superman ($ 166 million), Clash of the Titans ($ 61.2M), Loan Player One ($ 47 million) and more recently the film that brought moviegoers back to the pandemic, Godzilla vs. Kong (which made $ 48 million over five days).

Fantastic Beasts 3 will go against DreamWorks Animation The villains via Universal and Paramount’s Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum adventure film The lost city of D. It’s not yet clear if these two studios will do anything cheeky and put both titles on stream and in theaters on the day and date.

David Yates returns to directing Fantastic Beasts 3.

Together the two Fantastic beasts the films have grossed $ 1.46 billion combined globally. In total, with the 7.7 billion dollars made by the Harry potter franchise, the Rowling Wizarding Universe has nearly $ 9.2 billion at the global box office.

In the fantastic beasts and where to find them series, Eddie Redmayne plays magizoologist Newt Scamander, a collector and tamer of mystical beasts, who weaves his way through the secret wizarding communities of New York, Paris and London in the late 1920s. The films also starred Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller and Dan Fogler.

Johnny Depp, who had portrayed the villainous Grindelwald in the franchise, was cut from the latest film following allegations of being a “woman beater” by UK courts last November. The play was recast with Mads Mikkelsen.
