Just when I was about to hit send on Monday Fantasy Football Today Newsletter, a few important stories erupted. It’s a good thing that I’ve been waiting for. First, we learned that the Ravens-Steelers game scheduled for Tuesday night would have been moved to Wednesday. Then we learned that Will fuller has been suspended for the remainder of the season for testing positive for a banned performance-enhancing drug.

And now, here’s what you need to know about the Steelers-Ravens and Fuller suspension:
Steelers-Ravens moved to Wednesday
Why is the game postponed? The Ravens have probably had the most extensive COVID-19 outbreak of any team this season, with players or staff testing positive for eight straight days. Monday’s results showed just one new positive, a player who had previously isolated himself as a close contact, which could be a sign he has finally contained the spread. However, the Ravens apparently pushed for a second straight day of negative tests before heading to Pittsburgh for the game.
When will the game be played? According to the current schedule, the Ravens and Steelers will play Wednesday at 3:40 p.m. ET.
Will this game still count for week 12? Yes, that will count for week 12 which means you wait until the middle of the week to find out who won your matches. However, it obviously invites potential headaches for your fantasy leagues if your waivers are on Tuesday night, as most leagues do.
What should I do about it? For those of you in CBS Fantasy leagues with waivers scheduled for Tuesday with additions open after that, you’ll want to go into your league’s transaction settings and make sure the waivers are scheduled for Wednesday rather than Tuesday for this. week. Otherwise, your waiver order will be based on the Week 11 standings, and that’s not what you potentially want until the last game before the playoffs.
So, does that mean the game is on and those points will count for this week? We can’t say that for sure, obviously. There is always a risk of further postponement if the Ravens were to have another positive test on Tuesday or Wednesday. Of course, there’s nothing you can do about it if you have someone from either team in your roster. That’s why it was always best to avoid this game if you could reasonably do it, especially with absences on both sides. Remember, Lamar jackson, Willie snead, and Mark Andrews are among 12 players that the Ravens will be deprived of, while James conner will miss the game for the Steelers. A change here is that JK Dobbins and Mark Ingram will be eligible to play, pushing Gus edwards back in a three-way division in the backfield. Considering the tough game and Jackson’s absence, this could be a mess.
What does this mean for week 13? The Ravens-Cowboys game has already been postponed to Monday in Week 13, and now it has been postponed to Tuesday at 8:05 p.m. The Steelers game against Washington in Week 13 has also been postponed to Monday at 5:00 p.m. any further postponement would threaten these games as well, so … stay tuned!
And now for the second big news …
Will Fuller to strike with six-game suspension
What happened here? According to a statement released by Fuller, he sought medical treatment and was prescribed a drug he mistakenly believed to be licensed by the league. He’s likely already gone through the appeal process and will miss the rest of this season, as well as the 2021 season opener.
What does this mean for Fuller? Well, that could mean the end of his time with the Texans, to begin with, as he’s a free agent at the end of the season. It’s a shame, as Fuller was finally living up to his potential, placing seventh in PPR points among WR while playing in all 11 games so far. He ends the season with 53 catches for 879 yards and eight touchdowns.
What does this mean for Texans? They just placed Randall Cobb on IR with a toe injury last week and posted Kenny stills, so this leaves them very thin at the wide receiver. Brandin cooks will remain option # 1 and should be a solid starter for the rest of the season, and Keke Coutee numbers to see an increased role – he’s played 54% of the squad’s snaps in the last two games. However, Coutee has only had four catches for 27 yards between them, so it’s hard to get too excited about him outside of the deeper leagues. same for me Steven mitchell and Isaiah coulter, which will all have to prove themselves before seeking them out on exemptions. Coulter, a rookie with a speed of 4.45 at 6ft 2, is perhaps the most interesting of the bunch, but we’ll have to see how the pecking order emerges in Houston before we recommend using them.
What does this mean for Deshaun Watson? Watson is arguably losing his most dynamic weapon, with no obvious replacement option ready to step in. You would like to see the Texans involve the running backs more in the passing game, but with David johnson the week 13 status is still pending which may not be feasible. David Johnson is expected to return to training this week, and if he’s cleared to play that could free up Duke Johnson to line up a little more in the slot. However, there is no way around this; this is bad news for Watson. We’ve never seen him without Fuller or Hopkins, and while Cooks has been excellent this season, he’s a reliable wide receiver. Hopkins needs to be demoted, but he’s probably still good enough to remain a fantastic No.1 QB. He’s just less secure than usual.
